| True to our mission to form the whole human person, spirit, soul, heart, mind and body, the Campus Ministry program seeks to nurture the spiritual life of the Mount community. This includes not only students but the students’ families, the faculty, parents and alumni of the Academy. In collaboration with the Religious Studies Department, the Office of Campus Ministry seeks to provide a range of experiences which form a more reflective faith community. To achieve this goal, the campus ministers guide and develop a range of activities which involve the whole community in a variety of ways. Leadership is by both students and faculty and includes peer-to-peer programs as well as more formal religious services. These experiences include: Acts XVII A peer-based leadership team of juniors and seniors who guide the formation programs for younger students, leading them in faith. Christmas Baskets Providing Christmas dinner and gifts to over 130 families annually. Lenten Mission Drive Raising over $9,000 annually for work of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in their African Missions. Liturgies Whole school and class liturgies of the Eucharist, Reconciliation and other Sacraments.Family and alumni liturgies, including Class Communion Breakfasts. Prayer services on particular themes related to the Church year. Student-led liturgies and prayer services. Retreats and Recollections Times apart from the rush of school where students and faculty reflect on particular themes related to their own religious and faith development. Teen-to-Teen A peer discussion program linking seniors and underclassmen focusing on issues of faith and peer pressure. |
